What are (Set-Up) Polishing Wheels
used for and how do you make them?
These wheels are used for a sanding (abrasive) operation also known
as polishing, for removing
any where from a rough casting too minor scratches, on many types of metal
prior to buffing.
The term "set-up" is a slang term for "Grease Polishing Wheels", which must
be used with a
Tallow based grease for lubrication while in use. This type of abrasive wheel
has been used for
decades in many polishing and plating shops and to this day are still one
of the least expensive
ways to do your abrasive (polishing) work. Not to mention there unique cutting
action thats is
very fast and uniform, while at the same time do not gouge the surface of
the metal being polished.
